On our cover this month are some newly
landed highlights from a trio of
our young Burgundy stars, from the gregarious
and sensuous vintage 2017. (From L-R:) The
ethereal Meursault “Les Charmes Dessus”
by Domaine Tessier, the grandiose
Echézeaux “Les Treux” from Domaine
Jean Tardy, and the
exquisitely astute Vosne-Romanée
“Les Beaumonts” by Vosne-Romanée’s
rising young star Edouard Confuron of Domaine
Confuron-Gindre. All are in-stock now.

That was an eventful
February!
First of all, a big Thank You!
to those who joined us at Thevar for the
Etienne Calsac vintner dinner. After all
the worrisome news in recent weeks,
Champagne was a perfect way to spark
some joy. We had a very merry time and
trust that you did too.
So . . what’s new and available this
month?
For a start, how about . . more
Champagne! Receiving our Chartogne-Taillet
allocation is always a special occasion,
and our annual single-vineyard
allocation from this prodigious talent
has now landed. These champagnes are
gorgeously pure and undeniably
mouthwatering.
More burgundies from vintage 2017 are
coming to our shelves this month too. We
are pleased to announce the arrivals of
Domaine François Lamarche, Launay-Horiot,
Domaine de Montille, Jean-Marc
Millot, Paul Pillot . .
plus more.
Expect more offerings this month as our
Burgundy 2018 en primeur
campaign continues on and remember to
look out for special features of our
in-stock wines which are all ready to
please. If you are feeling thirsty now,
just remember: you don’t have to be.
Enjoy this issue, and happy
shopping!

Jean Tardy 2017
|
|
Bill Nanson writes emphatically about
these wines: “Another vintage,
another great set of wines here –
Guillaume has captured the energy of
the vintage but not at the expense of
dilution – well done!”
Indeed, there has been a tangible
escalation in quality since Guillaume
Tardy (pictured above) took over
the domaine. Like many of his friends
and contemporaries, he is committed to
continuous progress, crafting expressive
finessed Côte de Nuits reds of excellent
purity and depth. These are
terroir-focused wines that are rich and
silky smooth in texture; Pinots that
glide across the palate.
So, what better plan than to dive right
into these supremely delectable wines?

Burgundy 2018

Domaine Paul Pillot
|
|
Domaine Paul Pillot’s 2018s continue the
estate’s bull-run of recent years. These
wines are breathtakingly beautiful. The
vintage is unabashedly generous, but in
the young prodigy Thierry Pillot’s (pictured
above) hands, we once again see a
rare purity and clarity that many of the
better-known domaines simply cannot
match.
These are truly unforgettable, seductive
wines that are amongst the very best in
Burgundy. They are not to be missed.
